Arab League Reaffirms Support for Saudi Arabia and Warns of Escalating Houthi Attacks

The Arab League has reiterated its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in response to attacks attributed to the Houthis, warning that continued escalation could undermine regional security and stability.

Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy said attacks targeting Saudi territory, which reportedly resulted in deaths and injuries among people of different nationalities, represented a serious escalation and a violation of international principles and rules. He called for an immediate end to attacks that put civilian lives at risk.

Fahmy warned that repeated Houthi attacks could widen the scope of regional confrontation, stressing the need for serious diplomatic efforts to contain tensions and prevent further deterioration of the security situation.

He also urged the international community to take decisive and practical measures to halt the attacks and hold those responsible accountable. He emphasized that statements of condemnation alone were insufficient, calling for concrete action to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure and prevent further incidents.

The Arab League chief renewed the organization's support for measures taken by Saudi Arabia to safeguard its security and stability and protect citizens and residents. He stressed that the Kingdom's security is an integral part of Arab national security, adding that attacks against any Arab state can have consequences for the wider region.

The statement comes amid reports of escalating attacks targeting Saudi territory. Details concerning the reported attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, including the stated casualty figures and attribution of responsibility, should be independently verified before being published as confirmed facts.
