Anbar Introduces Odd-Even Fueling System to Address Gasoline Shortage

Anbar’s local government announced on Sunday the introduction of an odd-even system for supplying vehicles with gasoline, as part of measures aimed at easing fuel shortages and reducing congestion at filling stations.

Local government spokesperson Muayad Al-Dulaimi said the system took effect today, describing the measure as part of organizational steps intended to address the fuel crisis in the coming days.

He added that security forces would monitor fuel stations and prevent vehicles with more than half-full fuel tanks from receiving gasoline, giving priority to those in greater need.

Al-Dulaimi also warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found involved in manipulating or diverting fuel supplies, stressing that the quantities delivered to fuel stations across the province are sufficient to meet actual demand.
