Al-Zaidi, Rwandan Prime Minister discuss strengthening economic and investment cooperation

Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi held talks on Tuesday evening with Rwandan Prime Minister Justin Nsengiyumva in New York, focusing on ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation between Iraq and Rwanda across several fields.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office said the meeting took place on the sidelines of Al-Zaidi’s participation in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. The two sides discussed expanding cooperation, particularly in the economic and trade sectors, as well as increasing investment opportunities in a way that serves the mutual interests of both countries.

Al-Zaidi highlighted the possibility of benefiting from Rwanda’s experience in human resources development, noting that the Iraqi government has adopted ambitious policies aimed at combating corruption, advancing economic reforms, and strengthening integrity and transparency in order to improve public services and create a suitable investment environment.

For his part, the Rwandan Prime Minister stressed the importance of strengthening ties with Iraq and expressed his country’s readiness to cooperate in economic development, human resources, investment, and infrastructure.
