Al-Sudani reaffirms Iraq’s support for Palestinian rights and rejects displacement

Head of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s support for the Palestinian cause, stressing the Palestinian people’s right to freedom, self-determination, and an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Al-Sudani made the remarks during a meeting with Palestinian Ambassador to Iraq Samar Awadallah, expressing concern over the continued targeting of civilians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, attacks carried out by settlers, and obstacles hindering the delivery of humanitarian aid and medicines as winter approaches.

He stressed the need to consolidate the ceasefire, protect civilians, and ensure the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian assistance, while rejecting forced displacement and settlement expansion.
