Al-Halbousi: Iraq Rejects Use of Its Territory and Airspace to Threaten Saudi Arabia

Iraqi Parliament Speaker Haibat Al-Halbousi reaffirmed Iraq’s rejection of any use of its territory or airspace to threaten the security of Saudi Arabia or any neighboring country during a phone call with Saudi Shura Council Speaker Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh.

The two officials discussed bilateral relations between Baghdad and Riyadh, regional developments, and issues of mutual interest. Al-Halbousi condemned the attacks targeting Saudi Arabia and stressed that allowing Iraqi territory or airspace to be used against neighboring countries is incompatible with Iraq’s policy and its relations with its regional partners.

For his part, the Saudi Shura Council speaker underscored the depth of the brotherly ties between Saudi Arabia and Iraq, expressing his country’s keenness to further strengthen bilateral relations and commending Iraq’s position against any threat to Saudi Arabia’s security and stability
