Al-Halbousi and Education Minister discuss reforms and development of the education sector
Progress Party leader Mohammed Al-Halbousi met with Education Minister Abdul Karim Abtan on Thursday to discuss the current state of Iraq’s education sector and the ministry’s plans to improve educational and administrative performance.
According to a statement from Al-Halbousi’s office, the meeting highlighted the need to address mistakes and improper procedures that affected the ministry’s work in previous periods, while pursuing genuine administrative reforms to strengthen institutional performance. The meeting also stressed the importance of adopting competence and professionalism as the basis for selecting administrative leaders and ensuring that qualified individuals are appointed to the appropriate positions.
Al-Halbousi also emphasized the need to strengthen transparency and integrity in the printing of school textbooks, address the issues and questions previously raised over the process, and establish clear and sound procedures for managing the file under the oversight of relevant regulatory authorities.
