Al-Atroshi Calls for Government Action to Stabilize Prices and Strengthen Economic Stability

Iraqi Deputy Speaker of Parliament Farhad Al-Atroshi stressed the need for effective government measures to maintain economic stability, safeguard food security, and curb increases in the prices of essential commodities in local markets.

The remarks came during his meeting with Shukri Jamil, head of the Duhok Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at his office in Baghdad on Monday. Discussions focused on the impact of rising US dollar exchange rates on citizens’ purchasing power, as well as the importance of strengthening coordination and cooperation among chambers of commerce and industry in Baghdad, other Iraqi provinces, and the Kurdistan Region.

Al-Atroshi emphasized the importance of implementing measures to stabilize the prices of basic goods and ensure the availability of essential daily necessities, helping ease the financial burden on citizens and maintain economic balance across the country.
