4.3-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Northwest of Kalar in Sulaymaniyah
A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck Sulaymaniyah province on Saturday morning, about 5 kilometers northwest of the city of Kalar, according to Iraq’s Ministry of Transport.
The ministry said the earthquake occurred at 10:15 a.m. local time and was felt by residents in areas near its epicenter. No casualties or material damage have been reported so far.
Authorities urged citizens to avoid spreading unverified information and to rely on official statements issued by the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring.
