$1.8 Billion Initiative to Accelerate AI-Powered Biological Research

Major technology companies and U.S. government agencies have joined forces on a new initiative aimed at accelerating the use of artificial intelligence in biological research, backed by $1.8 billion in funding.

The project will develop large-scale datasets mapping cellular responses and train AI models capable of simulating biological behavior. Researchers hope the technology will shorten the drug-development process by allowing scientists to identify promising experiments before conducting them in laboratories.
